Lydden's well-promoted "Historics on the Hill" meeting may have been short of mainstream historic racing content this year, but when linked to the previous day's very busy meeting it provided a full timetable within the constraints of the Kent circuit's restricted Sunday hours, and some pretty challenging weather. The highlight for us was seeing the 500 Owners' Association in action on an ideal circuit for the original bike-engined racing cars. The eagerly awaited Mary Grinham Memorial races proved fascinating despite their small entry, while the Pickup Trucks and 2CVs completed their weekend programme and provided their usual excellent racing.
